Hey guys~I’m Rex<邓玮烨>.
As the poster said, I’m from S3C2. As it turns out, English Society (Eciety abbreviated) is a club, well more specifically an English organization which aims at improving students’ capability towards certain social events or phenomena and offers a platform to help students think deeply about them. So I joined it.
I love English, for it provides me with another bridge to communicate to the larger world. But I don’t like to take any English exercises or exams simply because from my perspective, it’s needless to make such a foreign language into a subject that we have to bury ourselves in every day. So if you want to really understand what English can bring us, just forget your homework first.
Another reason that I show interest in English is that I love English songs. I consider it unbearable if you cannot understand what a song really means or it truly wants to bring us. Some English songs really give me a special feeling that they can exactly express their meaning combining its lyrics with the tune.
In Nichelback (a rock band)’s song , it sings–

They tell us everything’s alright And we just go along How can we fall asleep at night When something’s clearly wrong When we could feed a starving world With we what we throw away But all we serve are empty words That always taste the same

Uh, participants in Eciety all can speak English fluently, well at least can easily communicate something in English easily.
